Chalet Millstreet is a modern, split-level 4-bedroom home located very close to the vast Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. The ground floor features an open plan kitchen, dining and cosy living area, with seating for eight to ten people. Theres a wood-fired combustion heater and a TV, with DVD/VCR, stereo and selected games. The living area opens to a landing and the backyard. At mid-level, theres two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and built-in wardrobe and the other with two single beds. Theres also a bathroom and laundry with washer and dryer.
The third level looks down on the kitchen/dining area by way of an internal balcony, housing a tranquil "parents retreat". The retreat opens to a luxury, angular-designed master bedroom with private balcony outlook through gum trees to the spectacular Grose Valley walls.
The top level houses the fourth bedroom with two single beds and separate bathroom with a luxurious double spa bath.
Chalet Millstreet can be a romantic escape for a couple or a fine place for a family holiday. The house neatly divides into two should two family groups/couples wish to holiday together.
With a downstairs double sofa bed, Chalet Millstreet can sleep up to nine in bedrooms and up to eleven overall.
Chalet Millstreet is located in Blackheath, the highest township in the Blue Mountains (approx 1100m above sea level) and less than one km from one of the Blue Mountains World heritage Areas most famous lookouts, Govetts Leap. Blackheath is also the entrance point to the magnificent Megalong Valley, and is only 10 minutes drive from Katoomba and 20 minutes from bustling Lithgow. Its about 95 minutes drive from the Sydney CBD.
Blackheath hosts dozens of local short or longer walks through the World Heritage Area. Its rich in mountains flora and fauna. The small, quiet township houses several cafes, restaurants from standard to exclusive, two pubs and a broad range of antique and gift shops. Each season creates its own special atmosphere, and brings festivals - for example the Rhododendron Festival in November, Winter Magic and the May Food and Wine Festival. For the adventurous, theres always another track or valley to explore.
